HHS Business @ WV FBLA SLC
On March 12-13, the FBLA business students had an exciting adventure in Kingwood, WV, attending the WV FBLA State Leadership Conference at Camp Dawson with a spirited group of 37 students! Upon arrival, we quickly checked into our rooms, changed into our conference attire, and got ready for the opening session that buzzed with anticipation.
One of our very own, Jenna Lindsay, was running for WV FBLA President, and the atmosphere was electric! London Donahoe, Jenna’s enthusiastic campaign manager, introduced her at the opening session, where Jenna delivered a rousing speech about her vision of being a Heroic Leader.
The first night was a whirlwind of fun and activities, filled with laughter and camaraderie as our students mingled with peers from across the state. These conferences are a perfect opportunity for networking, and our team made countless new friends!
The next morning brought breakfast and a wave of adrenaline as students prepared for competitions. The stakes were high, and the spirit was contagious—24 of our talented students earned spots to compete at the National Leadership Conference in June/July.
To top it all off, the election results revealed that Jenna emerged victorious as the WV FBLA State President, making history as the first from Huntington High to hold this prestigious title!
Now, we are gearing up for an exciting trip to Anaheim, California, for Nationals! Many of our students are enthusiastic about attending, and we're all looking forward to this fantastic opportunity!
